Angela is a fictional character appearing in Marvel Comics. Originally created by Neil Gaiman and Todd McFarlane for Image Comics' Spawn universe, she was later involved in a legal dispute between the creators before being sold to Marvel Comics.
Within the Marvel Universe, Angela is depicted as an Asgardian warrior and the firstborn daughter of Odin and Freyja, making her Thor's elder sister. She was believed to have been killed as an infant during Asgard's war with the Angels of Heven, but was instead raised in Heven and unaware of her true parentage.
Her existence was revealed during the Age of Ultron storyline, and subsequently, she was cast out of Heven and arrived in the Marvel Universe. She is known for her exceptional combat skills, angelic heritage, and wields weapons such as a ribbon-like bladed weapon. After proving her worth she was granted a position amongst the Asgardians.
She has been featured in various Marvel storylines and teams, including the Guardians of the Galaxy, and has developed a close relationship with Gamora. Her character explores themes of identity, family, and redemption.
